California
Foam King Memory Mattress Pillows
I got
the California Foam King Memory almost two years ago when
friends of mine were coming to visit me. After looking around
on the web, I decided to go with this one; I didn't want a
cheap plastic one which made squeaky noises all night or led
the person on it to slide around all the time. I have it in
the queen size.It comes in a
duffel bag of it's own which makes for easy storage. I noticed
some people complaining that it's hard to get into the bag
but I haven't had much of a problem with it. Perhaps you just
need to figure out the best technique for it (I usually fold
mine in from the two sides of the pump - into a third of it's
width- and then roll it up). The queen size is probably 2'x1'
once rolled up.
The California
Foam King Memory is very quick to set up. You just pull it
out of the bag, lay it out on the floor, plug it in and push
on the pump button. It takes less than 60 seconds to inflate.
You can get it pretty hard (for those who prefer firm beds).
If you fill too much air, there is a small valve on the pump
which can be used to reduce the air slowly. To put it away,
you just open the air release valve and it deflates in 15
seconds. Then you just roll it up and stow it away. It is made of heavy-duty
vinyl with a 100% cotton surface (which is treated to be stain-resistant).
I suppose you could sleep directly on it but I usually put
a sheet (fits standard sized ones) on top. You can buy pads from aerobed to make it more comfortable
but I'm quite satisfied with it as it is. The surface isn't
totally flat but has a coiled support system which according
to Aerobed "provides luxurious support and helps prevent
bowing, sagging and swaying." I have to agree it is quite
comfortable.
All my
guests who have slept on the California Foam King Memory have
been most surprised at how comfortable this is but I guess
the greatest testimony comes from me. I slept on the
mattress, every night, for almost 2 months and then
again for a couple of weeks when I moved and didn't have a
regular bed to sleep on. If you don't deflate it, it hardly
loses any air and I only had to give it a quick boost of air
every few days. I found it to be very comfortable. I never
woke up with a stiff back or any such problem. I had no problem
sleeping on it on a regular basis. It is definitely more comfortable
than a lot of sofa-beds.
