Foam Memory Mattress Pillows Beds
My wife
and I were mattress shopping for quite some time. I am about 180lbs and usually
have minor back problems, usually sore lower back etc, so
I like a supportive sleeping surface. We decided to go for
broke and get the best Canada Foam Memory they had, regardless
of price. We lay on the mattress and thought it
was really cool, but it had a "rock hard" feel when
you rolled over. It is probably very nice if you sleep in
one spot all night, but I am a mover so we ruled it out. It
is VERY thick, approx 19 inches due to
the ultra plush pillow top on both sides. At first we thought
that would be kind of "cool" and majestic, but later
regretted it, as sheets were almost impossible to find at
a reasonable price. When it was delivered we were excited
and eager to get a great nights sleep. We got the "half
height" special Stearns box spring set so it wouldn't
look weird in a bed frame, and it was STILL very tall!
The "Ultra-Plush"
pillow top was actually too plush and soft, if you can believe
that! How can that be you ask? The only way I can explain
it is that it almost feels like an extremely soft "little
bed" on a regular mattress. I lay on a 30-year-old "family"
mattress and sunk down to the box spring a few months ago.
My middle section, being heavier than my legs and head sunk
and bowed my body leaving me to wake up with quite a backache.
This might sound funny, but the Stearns HUGE pillow top was
actually so soft, that I couldn't tell the difference between
the "old" mattress and the Canada Foam Memory! Don't
get me wrong, under the plush pillow top is a very quality
supportive mattress, but the pillow top is so thick
that your middle actually "sinks" in and bows your
body!
The Canada
Foam Memory is "so tall, huge and heavy" that flipping
it would have been quite a chore! The worst thing for my wife
was actually cosmetic. She bought this very nice comforter
set with matching bet skirt and the comforter wouldn't hang
far enough over the sides due to the thickness of the
mattress! The bed sheets and mattress pad would only go
down to the bottom of the mattress spring and not the bottom
pillow top! So that left a "space" of pure mattress
showing. Kind of ugly compared to a "proper" fitted
sheet set. Once again, I am not taking anything away from
the quality of the mattress.
